Move/Copy Wizard

Main menu command: Item » Move/Copy

Previous  Next

This wizard will help you copy or move items if the destination collection and the items being copied (or moved) have various sets of additional attributes.

The wizard allows you to do it in three steps. Each of them can be automatically skipped (depending on particular conditions). At any step, you can go back or cancel the operation.

Selecting the destination collection.

At this step, you should select the destination collection in the tree of collections. To move to the next step, either double-click the selected collection or use the standard wizard button [Next >>].

This step is automatically skipped if you use Drag-and-Drop.

Selecting the attributes you want to import into the destination collection.

If the items being copied (or moved) have the attributes absent in the destination collection, you should select those ones that you need to import into this collection.

The maximum number of attributes that can be imported into a collection depends on the number of attributes already existing in it (because the maximum number of attributes in any collection is 32).

This step can be automatically skipped if the items being copied (or moved) have no additional attributes absent in the destination collection.

Setting the default values for new attributes.

New additional attributes can appear in existing items as a result of copying or moving them. At this step, the wizard allows you to decide whether to set the values for new additional attributes in existing items to their defaults or not.

This step can be automatically skipped if the destination collection and the items being copied (or moved) have the same sets of attributes.
